2024 “James M. Sprinkle Memorial” Scholarship
Lake Brantley High School Athletic Boosters

The Lake Brantley High School Athletic Boosters are proud to announce the guidelines for the 2024 James M. Sprinkle Memorial Scholarship. Jim Sprinkle became president of the Lake Brantley High School Athletic Boosters in 1989 and served for ten consecutive years. He spearheaded the planning, financing, fund raising and building of Jim Sprinkle Aquatic Center and the adjoining fieldhouse as well as investments in other sports infrastructure including irrigation and practice fields. At the same time, the Athletic Boosters continued to provide financial support for every team representing Lake Brantley High School. During Jim Sprinkle’s time as president, the Athletic Boosters raised millions of dollars and made the Lake Brantley campus athletic facilities a model of excellence. Jim Sprinkle’s vision, leadership and tireless hard work inspired Lake Brantley parents and the entire community to join the mission to make our school second to none. Lake Brantley students and the entire community will practice, gather and compete for many decades to come in facilities that came to be because of Jim Sprinkle’s dedication. The Lake Brantley High School Jim Sprinkle Scholarship is a tribute to his legacy. It also stands as a challenge to all who follow him at Lake Brantley High School.

PURPOSE

This scholarship aims to recognize a dedicated, hard working Lake Brantley High School senior who participated in the athletic program (athlete/support role) who has shown leadership through exemplary service, leadership and citizenship to the athletic program, school, community and/or other worthy causes.

I. Scholarship Criteria:

Senior, Graduating May 2024
Have documented service in school, community or other charitable organization
Display upright character
Have 2.0 or greater grade point average
Athletic Program participation either as an athlete or support role
Recommendation by LBHS Staff Member and/or Coach

II: Process:

Students may be nominated by school staff and/or community and charitable organizations.
Applications must be completed and returned to the Athletic Office by March 15, 2024

III: Final Selection

Applications will be reviewed and the recipient will be named by a committee appointed by the Lake Brantley Athletic Boosters and will include: two Booster members selected by the Athletic Booster President, the Lake Brantley High School Principal or designee and Phyllis Sprinkle or other family member/designee if Mrs. Sprinkle is unable to serve.

IV: Scholarship Award

The scholarship shall be awarded annually. The amount will be $1000 as funding permits. The recipient will receive the funds directly.
